I believe there is another world beyond the world we see.

We just don’t look close enough. We make it on ourselves to see things only in one way. This approch to the reality has many reasons, like upbrigning, culture, insecurity. We only see what we know. If we just look at the true world, without preconceptions, we have more possibilities to see the depth of our surroundings. Photography can be a tool of for awareness for life and then life can be more refined, you get more involved. You will discover things you haven’t seen before in front of your eyes. I believe photography is a media that promote conversation between elements in a surrounding; maybe I can make things talk to each other in my pictures, show contrasts, freeze moments.

August Rodin said once that we have to walk around 360 degrees in a plastic environment to experience it’s whole existence, only then we understand it’s full meaning. And most of us believe only one angle is enough!

Sequences of pictures are one possibility to explore, something between single image and film.

Born in Germany to a family of theatre actors, Stephan was exposed to the art world from early on. He discovered photography as a channel for creative expression, graduating from the Photography School Munich (1982) and the New York Film Academy (2000).

In addition to his commercial work, he also enjoys developing his personal portfolio in which he builds on themes of borderlines, fleeting moments and the geometry of landscapes.
